The European Union (EU) has placed 32 Iranian officials, including Gholamhossein Mohseni Ejei, on its human rights sanctions list for their role in widespread and grave violations of the rights of Iranian citizens, in a decision dated 12 April 2011. According to this decision, these officials will be banned from entering the countries of the EU and all their assets in Europe will be confiscated.

 

On 29  September 2010, the US Treasury Department  put Mohseni Ejei on the list of human rights sanctions,  referring to his role as Minister of Intelligence in "arresting protesters against election results without formal charges", "brutal ill-treatment of detainees", "keeping them in solitary confinement" and "Forcing detainees to make forced confessions". According to this decision, the possible assets of Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejei will be confiscated in the United States and he will be banned from entering this country.
